Russian Attacks on Ukraine Kill Three, Including a 12-Year-Old Child

Russian forces launched a series of attacks on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, and other major cities, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a 12-year-old child, and leaving dozens more wounded, according to Ukrainian officials.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that Thursday’s assaults in the capital claimed the lives of a 12-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman. He stated via Telegram that at least 18 city residents were injured, with 11 requiring hospitalization. Klitschko also confirmed that an air raid warning for Kyiv remained active, urging residents to seek shelter.

The attacks caused widespread damage across Kyiv’s Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnyanskyi districts. In Podilskyi, debris from the strikes ignited fires in a residential building, damaged a hotel, and led to the collapse of a home, from which a child and her mother were successfully rescued. The Obolonskyi district saw an office building damaged and cars set ablaze, with at least four medics sustaining injuries due to repeated shelling. Additionally, falling debris sparked a fire in a two-storey residential building in the Desnyanski district.

Beyond Kyiv, a separate attack on the central city of Dnipro killed one person and wounded ten others, as reported by Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional administration.

Further strikes were reported elsewhere in Ukraine: a drone attack on the northeastern city of Kharkiv injured a 77-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man, while an assault on the southern port city of Odesa left five people wounded, officials confirmed.

There has been no immediate comment from Russia regarding these incidents.
