Cyclist Seriously Injured in Collision with Van in St Peter’s

A cyclist in his 60s is currently receiving treatment for leg injuries after being involved in a collision with a white van on Tuesday morning, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene of the incident, which occurred around 09:20 BST at the crossroads in St Peter’s, specifically where La Neuve Route and Les Routeurs converge with La Grande Route des Augerez.

Authorities reported that a white Renault van, operated by a 64-year-old man, collided with the 69-year-old cyclist, who was riding a copper-coloured road bike. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The police force stated that paramedics transported the cyclist to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for leg injuries. These injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or possesses CCTV or dashcam footage relevant to the incident to come forward and assist with their ongoing inquiries.
