In the southern port city of Odesa, missile and drone strikes claimed seven lives<\/b>, as confirmed by Serhiy Lysak, head of the city\u2019s military administration, via Telegram on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The capital, Kyiv, also suffered significant casualties, with at least four people, including a 12-year-old child<\/b>, killed in the attacks, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Additionally, three fatalities<\/b> were reported in the central city of Dnipro, stated Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional administration.<\/p>\n
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko urged residents to remain in shelters as an air raid warning persisted early Thursday morning, noting that at least 45 individuals were injured<\/b> in the strikes.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, on the Russian side, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that two children were killed<\/b> in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Black Sea port of Tuapse in the southern Krasnodar Krai region on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He stated on Telegram that \u201ca drone attack on residential buildings in Tuapse has claimed the lives of two minors aged five and 14<\/b>,\u201d adding that the incident also ignited a large fire.<\/p>\nWidespread Damage Reported<\/h3>\n
The Russian air raids on Kyiv, commencing early Thursday, inflicted extensive damage<\/b> across the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Desnyanskyi districts, as confirmed by the city’s mayor.<\/p>\n
Throughout the Ukrainian capital, explosions ignited buildings and vehicles, shattered windows, and damaged hotel facades, according to a damage assessment posted on Telegram by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
Falling debris from the attacks sparked fires in a residential building in Podilskyi, damaged a hotel, and led to the collapse of a home.<\/p>\n
Mayor Klitschko shared on Telegram that \u201ca child and her mother were rescued from the rubble.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the Obolonskyi district, an office building sustained damage, and cars were set ablaze. Klitschko also reported that at least four medics were injured due to repeated shelling.<\/p>\n
Additionally, falling debris caused a fire at a two-story residential building in the Desnyanskyi district.<\/p>\n
Online images depicted uncontrolled fires and smoke rising into the sky.<\/p>\n

In recent months, multiple rounds of negotiations, brokered by the United States, have failed to bring the warring parties closer to a peace agreement to halt the conflict, which began with Russia\u2019s invasion in February 2022.<\/p>\n
The diplomatic process has seen further stagnation since the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East, with Washington’s focus reportedly shifting towards Iran.<\/p>\n
Even prior to the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, progress towards a peace deal in Ukraine had been slow, primarily due to disagreements over territorial issues.<\/p>\n
Ukraine has put forward a proposal to freeze the conflict along the existing front lines.<\/p>\n
