I\u2019m also excited to hear some new works \u2013 I\u2019ll be checking out <b>H\u00e9lo\u00efse Werner\u2019s premiere<\/b> with <b>Evelyn Glennie<\/b> and the young <b>Fantasia Orchestra<\/b>, and <b>Wynton Marsalis\u2019s new Concerto for Orchestra<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Describe the season in three words.<br \/>Joyful, surprising, excellent.<\/p>\n<p><b>Nick Mohammed<\/b><br \/>What captures the magic of the Proms experience?<br \/>It\u2019s the sheer joy of getting to see and hear the world\u2019s best orchestras playing the world\u2019s greatest music in one of London\u2019s most iconic venues.<br \/>The Proms feels like a part of music history that we get to enjoy every year.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think audiences will take away from this year\u2019s Proms?<br \/>This is arguably true of every Proms season, but I always think it\u2019s the variety of what\u2019s on offer. There is quite literally something for all music-lovers this year, whether you\u2019re a Proms aficionado or it\u2019s your first time.<\/p>\n<p>Are there any premieres, rediscoveries or artists you\u2019re especially looking forward to this year?<br \/>I think any time there\u2019s a premiere of new writing \u2013 whether that\u2019s a world, European or UK premiere \u2013 it\u2019s just terrifically exciting. I love how they\u2019re often paired with a real classic in the first half, so it makes for such a brilliantly dynamic and varied programme.<\/p>\n<p>Which unexpected collaborations or cross genre Proms do you think will surprise audiences?<br \/>I love that there\u2019s a <b>Horrible Science Prom<\/b> this year. And I of course loved The Traitors Prom last year. The <b>Aurora Orchestra<\/b> also continue to innovate, and they will be performing <b>Mahler\u2019s First Symphony<\/b> this year from memory, which is a joy to listen to and also feels like you\u2019re watching a magic trick.<\/p>\n<p>What moments do you think will resonate with first time Prom audiences?<br \/>It\u2019s the sheer breadth of programming and what\u2019s on offer across the whole season. There\u2019s something for everyone this season.<\/p>\n<p>For long time Prommers, what should they look out for that feels fresh or surprising?<br \/>Any of the premieres, of course. But also expect some refreshing takes on big classics.
