Malik stated he is working towards being \u201cbetter and stronger than before\u201d but would need to reduce the number of performances on his upcoming Konnakol tour, named after his latest album.<\/p>\n<p>Malik has previously cancelled live dates citing \u201cextreme anxiety,\u201d though he has not specified the reason for his most recent cancellations. A photograph of Malik in hospital was shared on an official updates page two weeks prior to the announcement. A week later, a comment attributed to the singer was added, indicating it had been a \u201clong week\u201d and he was still \u201cunexpectedly recovering.\u201d This was followed by his most recent Instagram post, confirming the cancelled shows.<\/p>\n<p>He expressed gratitude to fans for their \u201cprayers and well-wishes,\u201d adding, \u201cI\u2019ve felt it and it\u2019s meant the world. I\u2019ve been at home recovering and I\u2019m doing well and will be better and stronger than before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>**Glasgow and Dublin Dates Cancelled**<\/p>\n<p>In February, Malik had announced his largest-ever solo tour, comprising 31 dates worldwide, set to commence at Manchester\u2019s AO Arena on May 12. The rescheduled tour will now begin on May 23 and feature only nine dates. Malik is now expected to perform his first UK show at London\u2019s O2 on May 23, followed by Manchester\u2019s AO the next day. Shows in Glasgow, Birmingham, and Dublin have been cancelled, while performances in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Brazil are still scheduled to proceed.<\/p>\n<p>Morvan Dick, a fan of Malik, shared with BBC Newsbeat that she had tickets for the Glasgow show and had planned to attend with her boyfriend. \u201cWe had booked time off work to go, and a hotel,\u201d she stated. \u201cI am actually devastated to be honest, gutted doesn\u2019t really cut it at this point. I have been a fan since day one so it\u2019s just a bucket list thing.\u201d However, she emphasized that Malik\u2019s \u201chealth comes first before anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Customers who booked through Ticketmaster have been informed that refunds will be issued automatically, and tickets for the Manchester show will remain valid for the new date.
