This announcement comes as <b>Scotland prepares to participate in the finals for the first time in 28 years<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>As is customary, the BBC will share live broadcasting responsibilities with ITV, ensuring all 104 games are available live to viewers across the UK.<\/p>\n<p><b>Big-name Match of the Day presenters and pundits will be integral to the BBC&#8217;s coverage<\/b>, including Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan, Alex Scott, Micah Richards, and Wayne Rooney.<\/p>\n<p>With Scotland&#8217;s return to the global stage, a significant Scottish contingent is also part of the BBC&#8217;s team. <b>Liam McLeod will serve as the lead commentator for Scotland&#8217;s games<\/b> shown live on the BBC, joined by former Scotland star James McFadden in the commentary booth. The BBC will broadcast Scotland\u2019s initial Group C match against Haiti and their final group stage encounter with Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><b>Alasdair Lamont<\/b>, a regular Radio Scotland commentator whose commentary during Scotland&#8217;s qualification triumph over Denmark went viral, will also be in the booth for all of Scotland\u2019s matches at the finals, alongside Pat Nevin. <b>Former Celtic stars Joe Hart and Chris Sutton<\/b>, both regular BBC contributors, will play key roles in the World Cup team.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the star power, <b>Celtic legend and former Scotland captain Scott Brown has been enlisted as a BBC pundit<\/b> for the finals. Brown, 40, earned 55 Scotland caps between 2005 and 2017 and recently managed Ayr United.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond commentary, McFadden will also provide punditry, with former Scotland Women&#8217;s captain Rachel Corsie also a key member of the BBC team. <b>Former Rangers and Scotland star Neil McCann is also involved<\/b>, returning to the BBC in a punditry capacity for the finals after successfully guiding Kilmarnock to Premiership safety earlier this year. Rangers hero and SunSport columnist <b>Kris Boyd will contribute commentary for Radio 5 Live<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Match of the Day regulars <b>Alan Shearer and Danny Murphy<\/b> are also part of the team, alongside former England No.1 Paul Robinson, ex-Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, and legendary former France striker Olivier Giroud.<\/p>\n<p>The BBC will also offer a diverse range of Scotland-related programming for the finals. Amy Irons and Steven Mill will host &#8216;The Saturday Show at the World Cup,&#8217; while Sportscene presenter Jonathan Sutherland will host a daily podcast.
