This development comes just a day after the firm revealed plans for a record-breaking stock market debut. A successful launch of the powerful new rocket could significantly entice investors into buying shares in the company.<\/p>\n
The initial public offering (IPO<\/b>) on the tech-heavy Nasdaq<\/b> stock market is anticipated to be the largest in Wall Street history and could commence next month under the ticker symbol SPCX<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Due to the substantial shares he will own in SpaceX, this listing has the potential to make Musk<\/b>, already recognized as the world’s richest person, the first-ever trillionaire<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Musk stated on social media that the delay was attributed to a malfunctioning hydraulic pin on a component of the launch tower. He added, “If that can be fixed tonight, there will be another launch attempt tomorrow at 5:30 CT [22:30 GMT].”<\/p>\n
SpaceX is known for manufacturing rockets, providing a satellite internet service named Starlink<\/b>, and also owns the artificial intelligence (AI) firm xAI<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The upcoming uncrewed launch will mark the debut of the Starship V3<\/b> rocket, following months of testing delays.<\/p>\n
In its IPO filing, SpaceX described Starship V3 as “the most powerful launch system ever developed.” The company further stated, “We expect that Starship V3 will be able to carry a payload of 100 metric tons, with future generations of Starship being designed to double this payload.”<\/p>\n
The rocket incorporates dozens of upgrades specifically designed for rapid launches of the firm’s Starlink satellites and NASA<\/b> missions to the moon.<\/p>\n
According to the filing, SpaceX has invested over $15 billion<\/b> (\u00a311.2 billion) into the Starship program.<\/p>\n
SpaceX itself is valued at an estimated $1.25 trillion<\/b>, and Musk’s majority ownership implies his stake could be worth more than $600 billion<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Last year, Musk, who also serves as the chief executive of electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla<\/b>, became the first individual to achieve a net worth exceeding $500 billion<\/b>.<\/p>\n
In the previous year, Space Exploration Technologies, its official name, reported $18.6 billion<\/b> in revenue but incurred a net loss of $4.9 billion<\/b>.<\/p>\n
