Crack highlighted that the launch of BBC News Magyarul and BBC News Romania represents a significant milestone, leveraging innovation such as responsibly used AI-assisted translation tools to reach new audiences with trusted news.<\/p>\nAI Integration and Editorial Oversight<\/h3>\n
The BBC confirmed that both editorial teams will utilize AI-assisted translation technologies, complemented by human editorial oversight. All content supported by AI will be clearly labeled. Additionally, the teams are committed to producing original reporting and in-depth analysis. Kateryna Khinkulova<\/b>, Editorial Lead for BBC News Magyarul and BBC News Romania, expressed enthusiasm about leading a skilled team to launch BBC journalism in these two new languages.<\/p>\n
This expansion follows the successful rollout of BBC News Polska<\/b>, which reported an average weekly audience of over 800,000 people in its most recent quarter. The BBC previously maintained Hungarian-language broadcasts and websites from 1939 to 2005, and a Romanian-language service from 1939 to 2008.<\/p>\n
